Sleeping Cupid

Sleeping Cupid continues a theme similar to my earlier painting Beauty Disarming Love. Psyche has disarmed Cupid and is using the tip of his broken arrow to strum a lyre which lulls him to sleep.

This theme has a timely significance to me, as I see the West beginning a state of shedding its pathological altruism. Hence Psyche causing Cupid to cease his love-spreading correlates with what I see as a new Cremation of Care taking place amongst people who seek to save themselves from oblivion.
