Hadrian's Villa

Hadrian's Villa in Tivoli, near Rome, has a few elements of beauty, although it is primarily a testimony to the excesses of the wealth enjoyed by the Roman Emperor. It consists of innumerable brick ruins, and a few marble fragments. Marble Roman columns sprinkled throughout the enormous complex are the most beautiful feature. There was also a stunning white marble floor composed of thousands of tiny stones.
