Strange Curiosities at Tarragona Cathedral

Tarragona Cathedral is an impressive and atmospheric compound on Spain's Costa Dorada. It is built over extensive Roman ruins (as is much of the city), and houses a wealth of unusual imagery and statuary.

The statue group of Michael Archangel slaying Satan is a real shocker, and the definite highlight of Tarragona Cathedral.

The thing I found most startling was the bent cross above the Mary Magdalene altarpiece in one of the cloister's chapels dedicated to Maria Magdalena, and a very similar bent cross drawn on an opposing wall using what seems to be charcoal or wax. What do all these symbols mean?

Following are some of the more striking examples of the strange and interesting things contained in Tarragona Cathedral.
